PaidChatPlatform Try hello.fan
A woman laughing on a sunny sofa while talking to someone on a phone video call

Paid chat means selling your time one to one: people pay to talk with you by video, voice or text chat, usually by the minute. A paid chat platform such as hello.fan handles everything around the conversation — your page and prices, the payment, the call itself and your payout — so you only have to show up and talk. It suits anyone people already want to talk to: creators and influencers, tutors, coaches, experts, musicians and artists.

What is paid chat, in plain words?

Think of it as opening a small shop where the product is your attention. You put up a page with your photo, a line about what people can talk to you about, and a price per minute for each kind of call. When you are online, people tap Call. When you are not, they can book a time or leave you a message. The platform takes the payment before the conversation, runs the call, and sends your share to your bank.

That is the whole idea. There is nothing to edit, nothing to upload and no audience size you need to reach first. A paid chat platform turns the questions, requests and "can I just ask you something?" messages you already receive into paid conversations.

What does a paid call look like from start to finish?

Here is a typical live call on hello.fan, seen from both sides:

  1. The fan opens your page at hello.fan/yourname — from your bio, a group chat or the public directory — and sees that you are online, with your prices for video, voice and chat.
  2. The fan taps Call. Your phone rings. With the Android app it rings like a normal phone call, even when the app is closed. Ringing is free.
  3. You answer and you are both connected. Only now does billing start: the fan pays per started 15 seconds, and only while both of you are connected.
  4. You talk. If you speak different languages, either of you can switch on live translated subtitles (30 languages), and the in-call chat translates itself.
  5. Someone hangs up. The fan has paid for exactly the time you spent together; your share is added to your earnings.
  6. Your money moves to your bank. Each earning becomes withdrawable 14 days after it is made, and payouts go out through Stripe from $100, after a one-time ID check.

Nothing in that list is recorded: on hello.fan calls exist only while they are live, phone numbers stay private, and either side can block and report from every call.

What can you sell besides live minutes?

Instant calls are the heart of paid chat, but a good platform gives you a few more shapes for the same skill. On hello.fan:

ProductWhat the fan getsGood for
Instant call (video, voice or chat)A live conversation while you're online, paid by the minuteQuick questions, fan calls, practice
Booked sessionA fixed time inside your working hours, paid up frontLessons, coaching, reviews that need preparation
Weekly sessionsThe same time every week, booked and paid automaticallyRegular students and clients
Super HelloA gift with a private note; you can reply onceFans who want to say thank you
IcebreakerA one-line hello for 10 credits; you reply onceFans who find you while you're offline
Private roomOne flat price; a guest joins with a link or a 5-digit code, no account, nothing storedA one-off private conversation with someone outside the platform

You don't need all of them on day one. Most people start with instant calls and add bookings once regulars appear. Lesson 2 helps you choose.

Who is paid chat for?

Paid chat works for anyone whose time people already ask for. A few groups fit especially well:

You don't need a big following. People who already know you are the easiest first callers (Lesson 5), and a public directory lets new people find you too.

Who is paid chat not for?

An honest course should say this too:

  • If you want to sell content without talking to anyone, a membership or a course is a better fit. Paid chat is live by nature.
  • If you can't be reachable at any regular time, start with booked sessions only — fans pick a slot inside the hours you set, and nobody rings you unexpectedly.
  • If you had adult content in mind, this is the wrong place. hello.fan is for adults (18+) and allows no adult content, ever. It is a platform for conversations, lessons, coaching and fan connection.

How is paid chat different from memberships, recorded videos and booking pages?

Memberships sell monthly access to things you publish. Recorded-video marketplaces sell a clip you film later. Booking pages sell fixed slots, but nobody can call you right now. Paid chat sells the live conversation itself, in any length, at a price you set — and on hello.fan bookings and weekly sessions sit on the same page. Our comparisons go deeper: hello.fan vs Cameo, hello.fan vs Patreon and all comparisons.

What do you need to get started?

  • A phone or a laptop with a camera and a microphone. The Android app rings like a phone call; the iOS app is on its way; everything also works in the browser.
  • A free page. On hello.fan there is no monthly fee and making a page takes a minute or two. Your link is hello.fan/yourname.
  • A clear reason to call you — Lesson 2.
  • Prices — Lesson 3.
  • A place to share your link — Lesson 4.
