# Staying safe on paid chat platforms: a checklist

Safety By the PaidChatPlatform team September 14, 2026 5 min read

Talking to strangers for money only works if both sides feel safe. Before you pick a platform, run through this checklist.

## 1. Your number and e-mail stay private

Fans should reach you through the platform, never through your phone number or personal e-mail. On hello.fan calls go through the app and the browser; nobody sees your contact details.

## 2. Nothing is recorded

Ask whether calls are recorded or stored. On hello.fan they aren't — video, voice and chat exist only while the call is live.

## 3. Block and report everywhere

You should be able to block and report from a profile, during a call and after it. Blocking on hello.fan removes the other person from your feed both ways, and reports are reviewed within 24 hours.

## 4. Clear content rules

A serious platform says what isn't allowed and enforces it. hello.fan is for adults (18+) and has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users; sexual content is not allowed.

## 5. Verified creators

Look for ID verification. On hello.fan, creators who have verified their ID carry a blue Verified badge — and verification is required before any payout.

## 6. Payment before the call

Fans pay from a prepaid credit balance, so a creator is never chasing an unpaid invoice — and fans are only charged once both sides are connected.

## 7. Payouts through a real payment provider

hello.fan pays out through Stripe, to your own bank account.
